i was totally amazed by all of the responses i got from posting at a few communities. one copy sent to me by someone on google docs and the lovely :iconjade-lightning-wolf:'s wonderful contribution to the cause =)

don't forget to put this in a safe place, or send it to yourself so you'll have a backup. =p

oh my god I love you. The internet is an amazing, wonderful place. I'll be sure to thank :iconjade-lightning-wolf: as well.

I just re-read it and was so happy, its such a funny, sweet little story. And this experience has made me go and find some of my fave stories that are older (i have some Labyrinth fic that I first read like 10 years ago) - and I've started saving them to my computer.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

you're quite welcome =) i did it for selfish reasons too.

a better thing to do instead of saving everything in your computer or even on portable storage (computers crash, flash drives can be mislaid, stepped on, etc.). i have opened a separate g-mail account for stuff like that and for my work. that way there's a copy that isn't on the property (disasters happen --fire, flood, etc. --we've been flooded), and it doesn't take up space on your computer. just send everything to the storage account as an attachment, it works great.

good idea - right now I'm storing everything to an external hard drive, but once I find everything putting it somewhere that isn't in the house is smart.

i put feelers out in a few 'rk' communities on lj to see if anyone has it on file-- if it's out there we'll both have it. ~.^
