If I wouldn't want to keep my page rather clean, I would use it. Honestly, I never even tell people I study the Japanese language. The treatment that follows is just, urgh... So I silently study by myself rather having people think of me as someone with no hobbies and no life. It's still better. 
I am not too much into stuying the culture to be honest. Nice to know this and that about it, but for me the most amazing thing is the language. I love making up funny lines based on the kanjis to remember certain words, and I love how japanese people are not so monotone when talking, and how different the formal language and the slang are. I just honestly love the sound of this language to no end. <3
That's why I'll keep secretly studying it. I mean, I do this for myself anyway. :P
