I might be wrong, but wasn't it all in the same episode when Misty hung out with Jenny and when she took Jenny's place as the town hero? I'm sure of that.

That is why we need to bring her back, because she is what she is, y'know...
I think the show focused too much on XJ-9 (that doesn't mean it wasn't good), I mean, there are a lot of great characters that could have been more developped (in that case, Misty and a tone of others).
Well, all I can say is; if the creators of the show can't continue the story, any fans of the franchise can develop their passions with what they're inspired by.
