Darkdex52 was one of first 'bots' and biggest / longest running offender.
sadly tho DA dose not give a shit about this as that account has been reported to them numerous times over the years.

thanks very much. it does feel futile fighting him, but i just feel so badly seeing naive people tricked into giving their money away. the guy must be filthy rich already. i get exasperated just trying to explain the deceitful technique from start to finish. a friend came over to use my computer, and as i was explaining DarkDex52's technique to her, you guessed it, his bot faved her right then and there. who HASN'T had DarkDex52 favorites? the bot faved a blank deviation one time. i would upload individual letters to get thumb codes to use for decoration ~ the bot would fave the "c" bot not the "d", duh. fave my screenshots of dumb stuff. and most people just cannot see through it "Ooooh, i got FAVED!". now DarkDex52 has disabled comments on his profile page, grrrrrrrr.

me and a few others fought hard in the beginning of the bot scourge, but eventually all just gave up on it.
simply because we were not just fighting these false accounts but also the site its self. DA staff are very aware of bots,
and they had made it clear to us that they weren't going to do jack diddly squat about it. it might be dishonest to the majority of us but all DA cares about is it daily traffic and revenue raising.
its the same story in other issues with this site as well , harassment? , art thrift ? even with adequate proof of these things DA just does not care. its very difficult to get them to do anything.
the best you can hope for is to raise awareness of these unscrupulous accounts and encourage others to block them cause god knows DA won't ban them , and even then they tend to just come back with sock-puppet accounts.
good luck to you if you can make a change on this matter. but don't let it get to you when you come to that inevitable brick wall.

i abhor faving and running. i am way backed up on deviations of friends to view, and do not appreciate when others suggest i just "x" them out. when i watch someone as i just watched you, i will leave the notification until i can find the time to go look in the gallery and enjoy some good art. i am so backed up because for each 10 comments i send out, maybe 9 come back! and i love it, but i will never catch up. it's a long story, but i am only interested in genuine people with good hearts, who at least try to be unselfish. looking for good art? i appreciate the art of everyone on dA, so i am not out hunting for good art. my favorite artist just turned 14 and draws stick figures, but you should see the emotion in it.

yeah im all for encouraging others to grow and develop their skills , find what mediums suit them best and all that.
trouble is DA can be quite a cold place at times alot of people just fave with out ever interacting with one another.
and it can be very difficult to get many if any views or likes on a piece at times.
