Its other worldly alright, and you know, i was interested to see you use a 50D. I have a 40D myself and I'm really keen to add an R72 to my filters, this shot is all the inspiritation i need, well done again!!!
A 50D is a 40D with some extra stuff, very very similar camera.
Just a tip, be careful what lens you use for infrared. My tamron 10-24mm and my other 2 canon zooms leave a massive IR hot spot in the centre of frame. The 17-85mm f4 I used for that shot is less prone to this.

Now that a great tip! I was toying with getting a 56mm r72 for my 50mm f1.8, but after what youve said I'll probably get a 67mm for my 17-85mm kit lens. Many thanks again, John
wow, great list, very useful. It looks like I should be ok with either of mine, but I notice the 50mm f1.4 is on the bad side? ..very curious. But thanks again, and take care.
