Thank you Alison for the lovely comment, and you are lucky to have been able to see his art in person. I´ve not had the pleasure. Harry Clarke´s work is daunting, the same as Beardsley´s and at the same time beautiful. I love the illustrations these artists created, such  talent, maybe the darkness of the ink gave it that magical touch.... And as many artists, their work forgotten or re - discovered later. Wonderful movement these lads had, until of course they were displaced by "modernism" (Cubists, subrealists etc). I guess art has quality of surviving the ages, the movements or fads,  gladly and we get to see the magnific works produced by these men... and just enjoy their work regardless of the era, movement or fashion
