England now has Thanksgiving dinners on their restaurant menus since Americans do a lot of visiting there. I think there's also special Thanksgiving events with people dressed up as Pilgrims in Plymouth! I'd love to go to one of those restaurants, looks like a lot of fun! :giggle:

Really? Wow, it sounds like fun. I'd like to see all the people dressed up like Pilgrims, it would be so weird XD.

It certainly would be amusing. Another place that does a fantastic dinner is the Hotel Del Coronado. The time period is the turn of the century and they have a huge spread.

Turn of the century that sounds like fun too! I love going to those kind of things and I always go to the Ren. Fair if I'm able.

Yeah, it's because they dedicate their dinner to L. Frank Baum (whom was a frequent visitor to the Del) and The Wizard of Oz series, so the theme is the turn of the century. I caught word of it for the first time in October, 2000 when Mom and I went down there for the day. 2000 marked 100 years for first book. And well, this year marked 110! :D

I heard from my family that the last Ren. Fair they went to in town was a huge disappointment. There were more encampments than vendors, the stage shows had very poor performances, and the prices were food were outrageously high.

So there is a good history behind the dinner events there, that always makes it more interesting. I'll have to go there and see for myself sometime XD!

I went to this years Ren. Fair twice 'cuz my friend got me a free pass, who knows how? I don't really go for the vendors but I have fun looking and being weird by trying stuff on XD! Well, food is expensive at a lot of places so we usually get one or two things and then share since that's sometimes a lot of food depending on what you order.

The stage shows we went to were fun and I enjoyed the "Cliff Notes of Shakespeare's Hamlet" which was very funny and while they do have a good section of encampments you can still have a good time. The jousting is always fun to me and one year while it was starting Princess Leia, some Jedi and Storm Troopers came-they talked to the Queen XD! I think its really the people that really make the Ren. Fair fun 'cuz without them how would I get to see two Jack Sparrows try to woo some poor lady?
