What a fantastic concept and so uniquely presented! This is so rich with details and textures that I don't really know where to start. The way his posture says he's wearing down, yet his face is still hopeful and curious, countered by her entirely steadfast demeanor. It's almost as if she's blowing at the motes rising from the cage, and that's a whole other interesting layer to the story. This might be an odd detail to pick on, but I really like the way you've angled the hand on her chest; the way the finger joints vary slightly is one of the most realistic things I've ever seen in art, period. That's the kind of detail that takes it from something on paper and makes it magical.
