Just for the record, my fourth-wall-narration, the-narrator-is-a-character-on-his-own-right, Lemony Snicket style of writing is NOT inspired by Douglas Adams, Stephen Sondheim or even Lemony Snicket...
...it's inspired by That Guy With the Glasses.
All the That Guy With the Glasses videos (and the Angry Video Game Nerd videos) have "no fourth wall" and have the reviewers adressing the camera directly and often interacting with the movies/comic books/whatever they review. And since my writings are an homage to That Guy With the Glasses, they reflect that.
Another inspiration for me is Dragon Ball Z ABridged, who uses this style of narration.
