I've played 3028 era too, but I don't mind many of the things from Maximum Tech. If we didn't have the rules for pilots from that book, then its very hard to make the Mechwarrior RPG characters relevant in the BattleTech tabletop game. So do you not like the Clans technology either?

I do like Clan tech, but that's part of the original canon.

So is there like a certain staff/year when you felt like BattleTech's canon changed to non-canon? For many that might be the start of the Dark Age game or the 3067 Jihad, but if you didn't accept Maximum Tech then maybe it was 3055 when you stopped liking the weapons and story? I wasn't big on the Sirocco Mech when it first came out, along with many of the 3060 Tech Readout's designs. However they grew on me and now there are several I like. The sonic weapon is non-canon for sure but since BattleTech's rules encourage custom weapons, I obliged them with a concept I thought could work in the science of BattleTech. The mace was old by the time we started using, having been introduced in the Tactical Handbook years before. Its newer rules are slightly different though.

No, it's about the sonic weapon bullshit alone.

Wow, bullshit. Big word. You just said earlier only nuts would use Maximum Tech. Ya lost me. God help me I tried.

There is no God, so he won't help your munchkin behavior of using Maximum Tech!
