You are probably misreading the chain of comments. There is nothing shallow about correcting ones mistake on the gender/sex of the artist. Semi-pointless, yes, maybe, but not at all shallow.

I know what the point of the art is, my statement wasn't about the art at all. It was aimed at the person calling yuumei male and nothing else, if you can't see that maybe you should get your eyes tested.

For the record, you (themasknevercomesoff) were being a bit presumptuous and indignant in the first place. The comment never said anything about the artist being male, it simply used the word "man". As I'm sure you're aware, the word man is often used to describe the entire human race. The only thing the initial comment was stating was that a human, not to be confused with elves or gnomes or any other such race, is responsible for this art. Your comment was just pretentious and unnecessary. Not to say that I agree with EXITmuzic's clear foolishness, but it was your incessant need to have the gender of the artist irrelevantly stated that caused the whole thing.
Well I guess the original commenter could have meant man as in the human race but I highly doubt it, saying that would refer to the entire human race creating the image which could again be construed in the fact that mankind's actions did inspire the image but they didn't paint it.
