Roosevelt planned on getting hegemony over Indochina at the least. Outside of supporti Liberia with miscellanious claims, I doubt that they would have wanted anything in Africa or the unprofitable islands.
True, but remember these are occupying zones not annexations (yet..). The US would be the logical ones to occupy these zones if necessary, but they would almost certainly be preparing them for independence rather than annexation.
