lol. It would allow me to populate this new world with more isolated or oppressed places without their bigger cousins - I could have Tibet without the PRoC, Iowa without the USA, Natal without South Africa etc.
On an unrelated note, you don't know of any program I could use to create a world map with the orientation realigned, do you? I want to create a map with the north pole in Wisconsin for another project...

I never knew Iowa was oppressed, but then Cornwall is not in any way and they still moan. It's an interesting idea. Maybe you could include a Russian Republic?

Basically Cape Colony, Natal and Walvis Bay
South Africa is the official name of Transvaal and I don't want to two countries with the same name.

How about Azania? [link] If you want to name it after a monarch, the form "Edward's Land" is more likely... could also always go for "British South Africa", if it's still a dominion.

Perhaps Sakha or Tuva? Or maybe the Jewish Autonomous Oblast, though it's not very Jewish.
