Excellent points, all, and TvTropes does have some downright hilarious breakdowns. I think my favorite is "The Unfair Sex". I hate romance as a genre because the woman always act like shrill, unreasonable shrews, Makes me ask "Dang, if I act like this big a bitch in real life, will I get a boyfriend?"
Also, you just cut out about 3/4 of Twilight's appeal for the masses.
