quick question: does your art college have any prerequisites? or stuff like that?
real-faker's avatar
Hmmmm... they might. I know it's set up so that your first year there is like a basic run-down of things. Like drawing classes and color theory and all this stuff that isn't whatever you plan on majoring in, 'cause they want you to be well-rounded. But, if you have credits from another college that could transfer over, you may be able to skip all of that stuff and go straight into your major, which is what I did. What kind of classes have you taken before at SAE?

they had an introductory course and a 3d animation course. I don't know if I have any credits or anything like that. I barely passed XC I have the worst College rep actually, I think,,actually they won't even want me there. But I wouldn't mind introductory courses cuz I didn't see any math there.
My mom's okay with me going but my dad says we don't have enough money XC  I wonder if I can make enough with my shop <:'D tho I think my dad's bluffing ...i hoping..

Ahhh, okay, I see. Hmmm... well that's awesome! It's good news! At best, your dad's just bluffing, and at worst... you guys actually don't have enough money... in which case maybe you could make some sort of deal with 'em? Like you raise up a certain amount and then they cover the rest? Or like... I dunno... maybe you could be like "Hey, instead of you paying for me to go on vacation with you next summer, you could just put that money towards schooooooooo?" HAaha, I dunno, that's sort of a desperate measure though. XD
I wonder if you can apply for financial aide.... maybe I'll check that out.
But basically, what I understand about the school is that most kids (in fact, everyone I know) are on at least a partial scholarship. As for me, the school pays for a little over half of my tuition, and the rest of the money comes from government grants and loans because my family and I are just poor enough to qualify. Actually, we're just poor enough to qualify for about $2000 MORE than what is necessary, so each semester (thus far) I've been getting a $2000 check in the mail from the government. xD Which is super lucky, because otherwise I'd have no way to support myself or live on my own.
Of course, and I could be wrong, but I think government financial aid is restricted to US citizens. But I bet if you e-mailed the school or asked for more information they'd probably tell you all about what kind of things you may qualify for.

As for your bad college rep... heheh, it's okay, me too. XD I mean, I didn't do bad, but... I didn't do great either. And they were also really reasonable about me going there... like, for instance, most colleges will require a certain score on the A.C.T. test... but I never even took one. They saw I had a degree already and they were like PFFH EH whatever, good enough. Haha. ^^; I always just barely get by by the skin of my ass, I swear.

And that's true! Introductory courses don't involve any math! : D I believe there's social studies, history, philosophy... and maybe MAYBE a science requirement, but definitely no math. I've heard some really cool things about the introductory year though, but I also hear it's pretty rigorous. It looks like a lot of fun, but at the same time I'm glad I didn't have to go through it.

The only thing I can think of that might be a downside is that iffin' you had to take the introductory year, and iffin' it's too late to register for THIS semester... it'd be a 4-year thing... and I'm going into the 3rd year when school starts up again in the fall. So we'd be like... really far apart.... DX I mean, we'd still be like, going to the same school and living in the same place but there might be that awkwardness of us graduating at different times. Not that that would hinder progress or anything, it'd just be like... NOOOOOOOOooooooooo *dramatic hand reach* So I'd hope you could come here and get started in the sophomore year like I did, so there wouldn't be so much of a gap.

Ahghghhhh! This is exciting! Sorry I'm rambling so much but it's really exciting to me, the thought of all of this maybe possibly happening. X) If you'd like, I think I'd like to e-mail my animation teacher and ask him for more information or if he knows anything useful about this stuff...
