Like so many similar works of this type of art, this has such a strong atmosphere, something I call 'futuro-mythical'. What I mean by that is that the overall presentation, theme and subject(s) of the picture are strictly futuristic or sci-fi, and yet the colours, the lighting and the context make this look like some mythical event.. The purple lighting and the glassy surfaces mixed with the more shadowy metallic hull make this look extremely alien, but somehow reassuring.
