Thinking about love too much kills what made it exciting in the first place. It's not supposed to be this logical, solidified thing that you can grasp like...a pencil for example. Everyone makes it out to be such a describable thing and it's not. Too many people fall victim to this. Too many people, in fact society as a whole, try to institutionalize love like they institutionalize marriage. And just when they think they have love harnessed so to speak, suddenly the 'spark' goes out. Suddenly, love doesn't exist anymore. It seems gone or dead. And this, among other things, is why it's so hard for couples to stay together nowadays. We see love as something else other than what it is, specifically something we can hold onto and imprison. It's nothing of the sort. It's simply an emotion. A mental...emotional reaction. It can come anytime, any place...and just as easily disappear as if it never showed up to begin with. It's not always forever because...it's a human emotion.
If people stopped trying to institutionalize it and accept it for what it is, they wouldn't see it as the 'spark' leaving and wouldn't feel more and more depressed about it. Relationships might actually be stronger and longer lived as a result.
