Realistic is good, I've been always trying to get best at this, but it needs muuuuch practise. You are definitely a traditional artist, so keep it up. People likes more the things they can touch, smell or see by themselves (by mean: paintings on paper, material, wood etc.), unlike in the case of digital artworks.
I'm a digital artist and I give high honours for people who are able to tame colour pens, watercolours, oil-colours and so on, since I found them really hard to use |D' at least for me. That's why I prefer automatic pencils, tablet, and graphic programms (and scanners ofc). But real painting beats everything. ALWAYS.
