Well, in my adaption, Sigma gets cured from the maverick virus after the first rebellion. He then is forced to hunt down the other Mavericks while trying to redeem himself.
He later becomes the reason for an Invasion from Arcadia's neighbour Suriex ( Rockman X's version of the Emerald Spears) and takes part in the war.
