Plus I actually think that it was more offensive when they changed it, because it's like saying everything has to be perfect and a certain way and derpy was the flaw. Its like living in a community of blonds with blue eyes, but one day a black haired baby was born with blue eyes, and they thought different was wrong so they dyed the childs hair.

Derpy is fundamentally flawed on a lot of levels, maybe that is why the community likes her so much. She is what is goofy and different.
