I thought her bending haven't been took away. but anyway i didn't think about this point when i was doing it. I just need the blue flame to tell her identity, otherwise she maybe diffecult to recogize in this style 
well her bending wasnt taken away but she shouldnt be allowed to bend anyways because she went crazy and was locked away.
for a locked up azula, i think what makes sense would be this.
there are other ways like her bangs uneven because she cut them or more red and black colors?

Most of my attention while doing this is on her expression. and try not to think about the words like "breakdown" or "locked", cus it still hurts me. what i wanted to present is her pathetic rather than craziness, cus I just can't face that side. It may be an escape, but i seem still didn't prepare to fully accept the ending.

her hair can grow back depending around what time period you decided to draw her in.
