I did have an idea for using V4 boots with Genesis, the idea was to pose Genesis with an autofitted outfit, but no boots, then to load a basic V4 and fit the boots to her, obviously posed in the same position as genesis, then invisible V4. 
It could possible help with hair too, but I haven't had a chance to try it out. Although, I like Genesis, I find it a little frustrating to work with after being used to Generation 4 figures for so long.

I know what you mean, I've gotten to the point now I'm pretty much happy with Autofit clothes wise, not perfect, but good enough for what I do. As for hair, I never Autofit hair, just add to the scene, (cancel Autofit if it kicks in) and parent the hair to Genesis's head, finally adjust to fit, least you keep all the movement morphs.
As for footwear, I'd be greatful for a solution here, Autofit sucks just as much before the Autofit correction tool on female clothing. I can see your idea working to point and would be fine for one-offs if you can get it aligned perfectly, but alas for me I'd want something practical for better work-flow.

yeah, it's a lot of extra work. Really I am so glad that DS4 installed as a separate program from DS3. Gives us breathing space to learn how to use it.
