Thank you. I also think that a prologue is an effective way to reel in a reader. The first chapter (or sentence) is often the most important because it's supposed to get the reader interested.

I was inspired by Jane Austen, as she was always anonomus with her work before her death, so she always wrote 'The Author'. I loved it, it gives you an air of mystery, just right for a fantasy writer, so I too sign as 'The Author' on my blogs, but write the title of the novel next to it if I'm commenting on other people's work.
