The bizarre thing is that he is completely oblivious about this; he's never doubted her love. He just thinks she's experiencing things differently due to her physical immaturity/ limitations (which he respects. Even though he can get extremely inappropriately touchy feely with her, he's never attempted consummation, or anything else that might subject her to physical discomfort).
