Comment on Reason Why You Fractaling by Apophysis
I came to DA in search of Photoshop tutorials and tips on graphic design! Very quickly I came across the first fractal I'd ever seen! It was awesome! Suddenly I had a new mission! I had to know how these were done and if it was possible for me to do something like that! That was almost 2 years ago and I've been hooked ever since! Like the title of all my images I'm a fractalholic! It became an addition and if there's a cure I don't want to know it!
The "why"! Hmm! Well I started doing this because my health fell apart and fooling around on a computer is all I can really do! At first it was a hunger for knowledge of how to make these wonderful images I've seen! Then after a while it became an ambition! I wanted to join the ranks of the "elite" for lack of a better term! I thought that making very nice fractals and getting recognition would be satisfying and somehow make me a better and happier person!! (fractals are magic aren't they) Once I started down that path fractals weren't as much fun anymore! I spent more time and energy trying to get my fractals noticed and on a quest for pageviews and fav numbers!! I spent most of my time frustrated that I wasn't getting noticed and didn't have many pageviews and fav's!! Finally I came to realize that I was miserable playing the "notice me game" and had to re evaluate why I was doing this! I realized that I was very happy when I first started and was now miserable trying to attain the "elite" status!! I gave up trying to get noticed and decided I liked my fractals and as long as DA would let me I'll keep making and posting them! I wasn't going to get caught up in the "notice me game" again!!
Now I'm a happy camper again!!! Sometimes I feel like a treasure hunter searching for the hidden treasure inside all these formulas! It makes me very happy when I find a little treasure inside these formulas! And it makes me very happy when I get to print one of my fractals!! Fractals are a treasure and when I find one I feel like a very rich man!!
