In my experience, you can't judge a piece purely by technique. You've got to take into account the setting, elements used by the character, pose, expression...there are a lot of components that make art work.

In some ways, there are pictures I've seen that were badly drawn (from a technical perspective) that I liked better than those which were proficient, but lacked substance.

I don't draw, myself, but I know good art when I see it. My mate watches the show religiously, and I've been exposed to it as a matter of course. Your recreation of the artwork does not just mimic it; it accurately portrays it. There is a huge difference.

I think you can do more than you realize, and I hope to see more from you in the future.

Anyone who has a talent has a duty to themselves to explore it fully. At the very worst, failing to do so is an insult to people who want that same talent...and can never have it.
