Yeah.. Hate to break it to you, but it lacks the definitive pattern of Vinyl Scratch. The hair is too feathered and the tail is bending outwards instead of inwards.

Just to prove a point, I grabbed one of my early vectors, and two other vectors to compare. You can see the difference quite plainly.
It's clear you were going for a realism kind of thing in using the image that you did as the base, but I think it would be easily more recognizable, and more popular, if you used an image that everyone was familiar with.
