A bit frightening also if you watch the point of view of Humans 
Btw if a human fall in love with a wraith, they both know human life is so short according to wraith life. But wraith have the ability to give back life....I guess wether they can add more and more to their worshippers to love they longer...

So yeah, very scary to humans who are locked in the dungeon and they know that sooner or later the wraith is going to feed them.
For a human falling in love with a wraith is like falling in love with a vampire, the human knows that his life is short and age faster. Exactly, the wraiths can extend the life of his favorite worshipers and obviously can put them into hibernation

I am a writer and I researched a lot about the different kinds of vampire traditions and folklore ... eg Muroni (Romanian vampires), the Nelapsi (vampires Slovaks), the Sbenefici (vampire who feeds on other vampires), the Rakshasa (vampires drink blood in addition to eating human flesh), the Doppelsauger (German vampires are quite like wraiths, not bite, put your hand on the chest of their victims and suck the life energy) ... I love vampires
