This episode was terrific! I loved the little nod to The Great and Powerful Trixie, this means Trixie LIVES in ponyville or at least as close as Canterlot given that they did an article about the princess!
Or, Snips and Snails are "anonymous sources" who have been studying magic tricks and claim to have figured out the secrets to her tricks.
