Comment on Critiques: The artist's worst nightmare.... by taintedsilence

As someone who draws for leisure, I wholeheartedly agree with every point you made, especially that the most common misconception is that critique is a personal attack. I've a friend here that (I figure) wants to improve, but keeps putting a giant 'I do not want critique!' stamp on all of her submissions. To this day I can't figure why she's like that and I can't seem to persuade her to stop, I believe it's because of such superstition. Tried to talk her out of it when I realized people's suggestions is what keeps me going and growing better at what I do. I suppose it's not something for me to do, but I think if it's improvement you want, isn't blocking the most engaging form of feedback off something you don't want to do?
