Agreed. And a good working knowledge of each franchises's history, to make blending them together make any sense. I've not read it, but the Trek/Doctor Who crossover, while ticking off many fans of both shows, is supposedly quite good. And it's supposedly official that both shows exist in the same universe because of it, though they won't cross over on screen(which for me makes the canonicity questionable...)
