Comment on Jubilee Mermaid by kinkei

maybe I am extremely naieve (more so than I would originally think until this point), but why does the queen celebrate a "jubilee?" I thought such events were only for those in the sisterhood of the catholic church.. again, very naieve, perhaps, but I am not sure I understand the concept. Is it a celebration of coronoation? Otherwise, I would guess something of such a magnitude would be more like an anniversary?..

It's a celebration of the anniversary of coronation.

Probably so it doesn't get confused with the Monarch's wedding anniversary.
