I have encountered another problem: whenever I copy'n'paste the hiragana symbol into the 'alias' box, it becomes a question mark. Why is it doing that?
That's because your computer isn't in JP locale (where hiragana is actually typable). It's a computer setting, and I'm not sure if all computers have it?? But there are some tutorials for UTAU/Vocaloid users on youtube for people who need to learn how to activate it.
I am set in the Japanese locale. I'm sidestepping the issue for now by using the Essential Utau Toolkit which lets me convert any hiragana usts into romajji.
Is the problem just with you pasting characters into the program, or any ust already in hiragana?
The problem is me pasting characters into the program. The hiragana for any ust shows up as hiragana. I just can't paste any hiragana aliases into my voicebank. BTW, thank you for your time.
Not a problem, i think i know what it is!! Sometimes the fonts on certain websites etc doesnt transfer properly when pasting into a program like UTAU. you should try finding a different website to get the characters from, it actually used to happen to me quite a bit, haha!
