This chance would be unnecessary and would destroy a prominent icon... which actually looks better.
I don't like the briefs look honestly, it looks so 40's. The most iconic part about Superman is the shield, change the briefs isn't unnecessary because they don't make sense in this time period? They're there to add more red to the costume, I'm fine with that, but it's possible to add red w/o briefs.
Also, they aren't "briefs". Look at a boxer in the ring.

Wow, I disagree with you and now I'm a dingbat. 1930's really, that's a reference people would get now adays? How would Supes even know about them at this day and age? Like I said, it made sense AT THE TIME. It doesn't make sense now. Like I said, I can understand wanting to add more red but I don't understand "trousers" being used in a time inwhich it'd make ZERO sense(SO much better than breifs. *SARCASM*). Besides, the 2 most important part of Supes are his symbol and his face. So why not just emphasize those? Also, as yellow between the reds and blues because it's just more appealing since red and blue look identical on a grayscale.
