Yes because in Thailand there is a legend on Songkran day. The water splashing in Songkran day means to help one angle who kill one demon and her body is full of demon's boold. Therefor the people at that time want to help her clean the demon blood by splashing pure or fresh water out of her body (the demon blood is very hot).
