Umm... I have some shooting practice, with medieval kind of bows though, so I know the basics ^_^ I may crit his right hand too but well, it's not so important.

I prefer Medieval bows myself. I'm better with my compound (no sighs, I can't stand them) but I want to perfect my long bow (I don't know how long it is, but I've 5ft 7in tall, and it's almost as tall as me strung, so it's long. :) Un-strung it's about my height. :) I think his right hand looks great. The bow is resting in the skin between his first finger and thumb, which is where it should be. It looks fine to me. :)

Believe it or not it took me 'till second viewing of Avengers (like as in: did not notice during first time or all the seemingly hundreds of times I watched Thor) to realize that he shoots left. :)

Oh, you practice shooting, that's amazing!
I talked mostly about his elbow, the palm is perfect. The elbow should be turned out of the way of the bowstring: of course, he has protection put on but it's better to take precautions. One girl in my local area didn't put the elbow away, and the bowstring cut a strip off her shirt and a strip off her skin. Ewww(((

Oh yeah...it's really painful to get "zinged" by one of those babies. YOUWCH!!! I do love to practice shooting. I'm not sure about "amazing". ;P I've always loved weapons...I'm learning how to use a sword, I can throw Tomahawks quite well (I can't hit the tiny targets yet though) and I'm learning to throw knives. Such fun. :)

The elbow thing isn't your fault, it's Jeremy's. Seriously...he's not wearing two arm guards for aesthetics. (at least not aesthetics alone) Take a look at the picture. It's almost amusing (to me at least) to guess how many times he got zinged on set, trying to look awesome for the cameras, while shooting that way. :) :) :) Hawkeye (even in the comics) wouldn't be a very good archer in real life. His technique is all over the place, his left elbow is high, his right elbow is in, his stance is rarely as good as you see here, and his bow string (in the movie) sometimes visibly is touching his body/clothing where if he actually was firing at something...he wouldn't' make that arrow fly two feet. ;) :) Oh the magic of movies. ;)

You know definitely more than me, I'm more like theoretician))
Agree with everything you told, his poses are definitely not safe and sometimes not realistic. The same for Hiddleston riding horses: he rides very good for an actor but some things are just dangerous, especially feet position.

True. Actors get to do a lot of dangerous (albeit extremely fun) things! According to the film crew, a lot of the actors got to do their own stunts on Avengers. That was great since they could get all the close ups. :) :)

Getting your hands on some good weapons and messing around (being carefully of course...sword woulds hurt ya know. I've never been cut badly, but I've been cut...not fun. No hospital or anything, but a few band-aids. ;P) cause it's SO MUCH FUN. (and it's even MORE fun if you to it in costume.) ;P

Yes, the DVD recently came out, and there are some behind-the-scenes videos, and they really did the tricks! Hope they had a lot of fun, it looked like a small scout camp with usual scout activities)))

Do you use sharp swords, really? Our roleplayers use swords and other kinds of weapons with safe edges (roundness >5 mm), and they are fully protected (helmet, armour etc.) because it's too dangerous to fight with a real weapons 0_o

You have the DVD??? YOU LUCKEY DUCK! It doesn't come out in the US until September 25th... :/

Oh we'd never use sharp swords at a living history event. We use sharp tomahawks because otherwise they don't stick in the target, but sharp swords, NO! I use sharp swords at home, practicing on trees and beams and such, but even then it's not as sharp as a real weapon. It's sharp enough to cut though, so I can see where I marked the beam. I have to get it at the right angle or it wouldn't be effective.
