Hope you are not against by the black humor on this theme.. Why many artists are inclined to depression? 
I have no clue. But I could imagine that mental illness fosters creativity somehow. Take David Lynch for example: he's a genius, but at the same time totally cracked up.
Maybe.. Yet I like the version that hypersensitivity causes mental fatigue.. exhausts emotionally.. like this version more 
That's the other way round, but sounds much more pleasant indeed.
Hypersensitivity, and maybe also hyperempathy (if that exists).
Both can make you believe that you're carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders...
Creativity is an outlet, like a vent for the emotional pressure.
Haha sometimes we are a bit we deceive ourselves, indeed.. although it is better to believe in ourselves, than not! What about David Lynch: it's better to be David Lynch than just a mad guy
