MissleMan: The fool is the first card in the tarot deck, and represents the card onto which all other cards are reflected. He is the young boy who faces death, and becomes the hanged man etc. (Just in case you were still wondering)

So, what makes the fool, the fool?

Basically the walking stick. The fool completes a journey through the tarot deck and hence is usually represented with a walking stick, on a horse, with a pack, or on the top of a mountain...

The mountain represents that he is about to step off of the cliff into manifestation.

Normally the fool card has all four elements in it (earth = mountain, water = frozen snow on mountain, air = more air on top of mountain, fire = normally there is a sun...).

He is called the fool because he begins his journey knowing nothing, but comes out at the end knowing all there is to know about life and death.

Its actually really hard to explain the fool without going into an exlination of all the other cards in the Major Arcana... if you really wanna know you can always write me a note and I would be happy to enlighten you :P

I think you wrote a decent explanation in the body of the text right there uses a walking stick on a horse or on a top of a mountain, knowing that now, I'll say, " Josh I think on the Fool card I would have shown a little more of the underside of the cliff, or would have put him an a horse to help convey that message, and make it a little less esoteric, like a tarot deck for dummies, And I've kept silent long enough, Josh the size/shape of the card in relationship to the placement of the moon on the fool card makes it look too much like a door hanger."
