i think that epoxy resin maybe would stick to the plastic... i have heard it binds to more surfaces than polyester...

From my experiences so far i can say that polyester resin makes a better, more smooth surface when used in a silicone mould but it is softer and you can easily leave marks when used without one unless you leave it to dry for months.
okay so it takes long to dry... epoxy should only take a day or so..
