Ahahaha! They're strikingly similar, in some ways: both apostates, both willing to use less-than-acceptable-to-the-chantry forms of magic, both grew up in the wild. But personality-wise, it's like Merrill was designed to annoy Morrigan. It's a good thing they were never in the same party.
