I've been meaning to ask this, but why is she topless?

Because I like her boobs. What kind of stupid question is that?
If she was a warrior being war weary and taking off her armor at the end of battle that would make sense. If that is the warrior's normal garb for fighting, then it seems off because she is too exposed and vulnerable.

Didn't you notice my original reply? I said "I like her boobs" - i.e: I wasn't TRYING to make this realistic or practical or anything like that. It was my aesthetic decision. This is not content for a movie or something where I need to care about accuracy.

Shorter form: I don't give a fuck what you think.
I was answering the "What kind of stupid question is that?" Fanservice is not my default mode of thinking. Also, your hostility is unwarranted. Then again maybe you have been asked the question more times than you appreciate?

Yeah, but I guess you didn't catch the "stupid" ( <-implication: your question was STUPID ) and just felt like shovelling.

Keep going. (eyeroll)

Beowulf fought naked...
In the comic and movie. Not in the poem except for the sea monster and that was only because he had been swimming at the time. As for the comic and the movie it was still not a tactically sound decision.

That's true, but I'm just going to be blunt: It's bad ass. Fighting naked signifies that you aren't afraid of being hurt in battle. It may not seem like the smartest thing to do, but eh. Makes things cooler.
It can be yes and to humorous effect as well. That just wasn't the case here or in the Beowulf comic, but this is Deviant Art. It's always a gamble and I shouldn't have expected much.
