I have been using Vibrance after I have seen one tutorial,I think it was yours. It work really well for me.
Vibrance is always a good adjustment to use. You should always use it to help bring out the colors of your signature. I normally use it after I've used photo filters and selective coloring. 
That's true. Gradient Map is not necessary when I used it.
