I know this was directed toward Wild, but I have some advice on how to work on developing a style. :D I've been drawing wolves since the 8th grade, and am now almost 20. Yesterday I actually stumbled across some really old art of mine, and even though a part of me wants to puke and then applaud myself for improving, there are still some elements in my old art that I like even now, even missing now that they've been replaced.

That being said, that whole "trial and error" cop-out answer is 100% true, and that's really all you can do. Every time you draw something, and draw a LOT, there will be some things you like and some things you don't. Often times, you'll try to mimic or add things you've seen elsewhere into your own art. You will fail. Terribly. But you keep doing it, and eventually, you get something you like, and you keep it, and alter it, and grow with it. Repeat 20 thousand times.

Basically what I'm saying is, try new things, stick with it, tweak and change things, and eventually, you will get a semblence of your own style. Even now I feel like my art is.... bleh, not original, but it's my style. I draw that way without trying to be like anyone else, which is fun to do for practice sometimes. I fear that people will think I'm just a knock-off of so-and-so when that's not the case at all. It's 100% me, trial and error and still developing, 6 years later. I like how far I've come and am far from done. Art can always improve. :)

TL;DR: Practice, try EVERYTHING. Change and tweak everything. Experiment. Own everything you do, no matter the style. It's perfectly fine to have 80 styles lmao.

WOW this is not as helpful and inspirational sounding as I planned. :XD:
