XD lol, Blackie is also unhelpful. In this one scene I have where Garin is hanging by his arm after jumping to get away from something that was collapsing, Blackie is sitting on his head, and Garin says, "Fine help you are. At responding to signals, yes. But at getting down, not a bit!"

And Blackie responds to this with a look of "Bitch please".

I give him a sad story though. Garin found him locked in a cage in the kind of home an animal hoarder would live in, never been handled once.

Yeah. Garin managed to get him to come out with crackers and peapods. But that's why Blackie is only friendly to Garin, because he took care of him.

Well its the same with real animals that come from neglect. Once shown affection by one person they stick to you like glue. My cat is like that, she wasn't abused, but she came from a family that could barely afford to keep her, her mom and her brothers, and when I adopted her she got nothing but love, and now she's waiting for me at the door every day when I come home.
