Hmm indeed. Kaynites kind of operate on a similar economy. Earlier on they used coinage and then credits, but it was thought to be too unfair and too clumsy in the end. So a sort of communistic economy was created within the borders of the alliance, and external races are treated with equivelent trade and sometimes tribute. So it wouldnt be too hard to obtain the resources required to trade for the ship, esspecially if it would benefit the alliance's military force in the long run.

Yep. You seldom have time for messy politics when youre too busy defending the galaxy from lovecraftian invaders from other galaxies.

Halcyons are too busy keep near extinct species alive (x3), holding a very hostile, highly advanced and in high number specie at bay over a huge barrier lasting solar systems, and keeping their own specie alive as possible, AS WELL as preparing to save the homeplanet of each species when the universe end, preparing for the next cycle. A cycle is a universe explosion (Where it starts with explosion, then implosion. Universe would be an ongoing explosion. )
Aldark's avatar
Wow. What causes the cycle? [in mine the eldrich-like thingies are created by pure sin itself.]
madcomm's avatar
Nothing. The universe is a cycle. Halcyons are the current guardian specie, and have been for the last 3 cycles, and thus are the ones to look out for that. It's in the order of things.

They have created a small alternate dimension called haven, guard up heaven and the gates of hell.

I see. So the cycles are kind of similar to the ones in mass effect. Races die out in apocolyptic fashion, until a super-sentient race becomes some kind of guardian force - although the Reapers were far from 'good' guardians, as they used the most powerful species in each cycle as 'food' to make themselves more powerful. lol but they also help shepard in a new cycle each time so everything continues.

I like the idea of cycles, however personally I've always been a sucker for the prophetic end of mortal life entirely. As in everythings just a big fight to become immortal in the spirit world, once the universe comes to its true and ultimate end. The kaynish race's only real purpose is to protect the human race until everythings over and the humans who are destined to be, are all in the spirit world, and the rest are in oblivion/devoured by the sinspawn.

Actually, the heaven/hell are alternate dimensions here.

The Tal'Ryth and Haikovans both have cash economies. Both of them can just requisition materials in wartime. They then pay the firms they took it from back after the war is over, or during the waengh to keep those firms from going bust.

Halcyons run a communistic and socialist divided clan based society. Back that up with their family like clan and their impressive ressource generation, and damn, that is one hell of an economy.
