I noticed your delayed response but it didnt bother me, I figured you had important things to do. I usually take a while to respond, too. But I'm sorry you've been under stress :( take yout time when that happes. Even just a vacation in your own head helps :)Pleas take your time in reading my "ponytail of shame" speech. It was written before I knew much about YJ and so is funny, but it's mostly for people who just want a laugh at Yj's expense.

yeah, it bothers me, too, that the original comics are ignored due to the success of Marv Wolfman's creations... but as a huuuuuuuge Slade fangirl (old comic, TT, Arrow, YJ, video game versions, Smallville---some of them may be lame but Slade is awesome everywhere!) I cant not think higher of the part of the plot that involves him. I feel the same about the old comics as I do about the TT show---every spot with Slade is better than any other part of it :D but that's just my opinion.

I've read the Marv Wolfman comics (some), seen TT and read some of the comic spinoff "Teen Titans GO"--and I hate "Teen Titans GO". Hate it more than the movie Trouble in Tokyo.
Oh no, no---I truly believe that things like Gotham/Batman/ANY other medias should NOT have made appearances in TT. A looooot of people disargee with me, but that's "to each his own". I dont want big name like JL or Batman, heck even "Gotham" holds such potency that the Titans would be outshone by mere mention of the name! Noooooo no no... I'm happy with the Titan's universe being THEIRS, not Batman's, Gotham's or anyone else's. Every time Robin etc gets to go anywhere he's overshadowed by all that junk, but in TT he finally got his own spotlight--along with the other 4 titans. I would have been happy to see Batman drawn in that anime/western style animation, but it would have destroyed the show in my opinion.
I assume you disagree :D and I love you for that

The one thing I didnt like about the writer's choices in how they ran the show was the insult to kid's intelligence. I wasnt a genius, but I knew those kinds of things. All kids do. Most adults think kids are more dumb than they are. I think they made the right move in not taking masks off, but for the wrong reasons.
Also: I thought it was a professional move on the part of the Titans (assume for a moment that theri world is real) if the "crime alarm" goes off in the middle of the night, they hardly have a moment to spare to get dressed. I know they do it in the comics, but in reality it cant be that easy. I thought it was a cool move to make them sleep in their uniforms, etc. They could get to the scene of the crime faster and all that.

XDD oh, you're one of the "ReX is Jason" (nickname for Red X--think about it... the "eh" sound in "red" is the same as the "eh" sound in "X" so... "rex". the added humor is like a dog's name "come here, ReX! good boy!" [insert Red X's /T.T\ face here] XD ) fans, huh? Sure, he could be, but it's been established that Red X is older than Robin and Jason is YOUNGER. Maybe they changed that for TT, but from other evidence it seems that ReX isnt Jason Todd. (Id' love to hear your explanaion as to why you think it's him though ;) ) The writers have said that they did finaly work out an identity for ReX, but they wont say who it is.

I always assumed the reason Robn left Batman was the same as in the comics (despite that they constantly get things wrong from the comics) that Robin was tired of being "batman and robin" and he wanted his own name slot.

I know that the TT characters were directly modelled after the comics, but they're just... not them. The list as to how and why is endless. Their peronalities have changed, sometimes DRASTICALLY, their powers are different and their plotlines/histories are different in many ways, too. And besides, they CANT be the same people simply by looking at the plotline of the show as compared to the comics. If they were the same people then the plot would have to work AROUND the comics and they dont, they take their own unique route. How they met Slade, how they met each other, how they dealt with Trigon, what happened with Terra, what happens during their lives together... it's all different.
TT is just a parallel dimention to the comics, and YJ is another parallel dimention, and every other variation on the same plotline is yet another dimention. It doesnt matter how much they have in common with each other, if something is changed from any previous plotline/"canon fact" then it's a different story completely.
That's like saying ... "well, identical twins have so much in common, they ARE the same person" no, they arent and if you told them that they are they'd be hurt, insulted, and... well... descriminated against. O.o I'm sorry, I didnt mean for that to take such a morbid turn... (no, really, I didnt mean it that way..!)
I figure this is one of those things that we wont see eye-to-eye on ^^; but that's OK ;)

I figured that the rason they're writing YJ season 2 as they are is because they knew after the end of season 1that the show was going to be cancelled after season 2. they've announced that they DID know since before making season 2, it was going to be cancelled. So, they're trying to make season 2 everything they wanted to do altogether. SO, basically, season 2 is like 5 or 6 seasons crammed into one. They're attempting to make their dreams come true in just one season... like what Dreamcast did when they died. Except Dreamcast didnt know they were screwing themselves and YJ knew it was screwed waaaaay ahead of time. It's CN's fault for making the call. We'd have had a lot of buildup for a few seasons if not for CN cancelling it---I cant believe I'm defending that stupid show right now--and really, considering that they only have ONE season to cram this all into, they're actually doing pretty well. Not great, in fact FAR FROM IT, but better than most would be doing in just one season with only one previous season to base their final season on.

I stood up for YJ...
