Advanced critique eh?
Well, personally, I think that you need to work on blending those colors together a bit more. You could use the smudge tool or use gradients or even lots and lots 'o airbrushing.
Also, the light on the picture looks wrong to me. At first, I thought it was a dark room with an open door to the light or something until I looked closer at the picture. You need to make the lighting much more subtle and make sure that it's strongest at the actual lightsource, not equal at all places. The painting needs to reflect the lighting as well.
He would also have some sort of orangish-redish glow from the fire on the side of his body that's closest to the fire, it looks like you tried it sorta but it dosen't really say "this is from a fire" to me. It says more "this is just ordinary shading like from a sun or something".
Also, you need some sort of texture in the carpeting and the walls and such, it looks very flat. This is only something I would reccomend if you really wnted the picture to have some extra "Wow" to it, it's rather hard to pull off and not make it look all fake. (in other words, don't try that until you have some experience with what I said before this)
