And yes, in photoshop after all is said and done. I copy paste the whole image into a new file, re-size it, sharpen it (maybe play with contrast), add a noise filter. Then two black bars on the top and bottom of the image. That's it really

i think im gonna try an image in this style one of these days, because its oh so epic looking
also you are SO WISE with the PASTE INTO NEW FILE advice.
i can see how not doing that can result in accidents!!!

LOL Thanks, I figured that out ages ago. just a copy merge, open in a new file, resize, and edit to your heart's desire.
I draw pretty big (1500x? pixels, usually the size of my computer screen or bigger), and then re-size later on(to about 900 something pixels).
