haha. as i kind of lost interest in the newer shows i sort of just keep rewatching old shows bc i get nostalgic i guess.
but yeah i think part of it's charm is that it KNOWS how ridiculous it is and it's sort of a parody and i love that about it. plus most of the characters are jus t really great

YEAH I've been doing the same. It's pretty rare that I can watch a "newer" show and enjoy any of it. I think the last "new" shows I watched were like... Ben 10, Chowder, Flapjack, Storm Hawks and that one with the teenage kid that turns into a dragon... I don't even remember what it was called. They were all pretty okay.
But none of them were awesome enough that I HAD TO GO BACK AND WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE, and I used to be like that with so many shows in the 90s and early 2000s. A really good show will just HOOK me so hard, and it has been many years since I have found a show like that on TV. MAKES ME ALL SAD.

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THOSE CHARACTERS. They were some of the best written characters that I have ever seen in an anime. I mean, none of the show was really visually spectacular, and none of the characters looked very remarkable, but they were just so extraordinarily well written that I loved them to death anyway. SUCH AN HONEST SHOW TOO oh my god. It knew what it was, and why it was that way, so much so that it could make fun of itself and for me, that is one of the biggest signs of a "Good Show".
