No, that one i had figured. I downloaded the PSD, and there is a layer you call shadowlayer. basically a grayscaled version of the girl, but it gives a much better effect than just doing a brightness/contrast adjustment layer..

I think I used a masklayer to make the shadow lighter when further from the body. I'm not sure, it's been 7 years ago

I´ll have to experiment a little. Kudos for making a tutorial that still works after 7 years!
(Ofcurse - an updated version would be nice
